The goal of "Musicians Help Musicians" is to address the growing concerns about the welfare of musicians, especially those who are dealing with major health issues but are unable to afford treatment.
As part of the project, MUSIGA will collaborate with Care4Aged International, a medical organization based in Denmark, to provide professional training to a chosen group of Ghanaian volunteers who will be caring for sick musicians.
Additionally, the effort will be hosted and facilitated by Gyae Su Herbal Centre, a medical facility located in Ghana.
In addition to providing training for caregivers, the center will be the official medical facility where musicians can get free medical care.
Bessa Simons emphasized the urgent necessity for such a drive in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, stating that MUSIGA regularly receives distress calls concerning musicians who are detained in hospitals because they are unable to pay their medical fees.
“There have been countless times we’ve received calls about musicians detained in hospitals because they can’t afford their medical expenses.
Our goal with this program is to make sure that these kinds of incidents never happen again. We want to make healthcare easily available and free for musicians who need it most with 'Musicians Help Musicians,'" he said.

He explained the project's implementation, saying: "This year, we are commencing 'Musicians Help Musicians' in partnership with a Danish medical firm. In order to teach volunteers who have previously volunteered to be caregivers for artists in need, medical professionals and nurses will travel to Ghana.
These carers will be prepared to help artists who are bedridden, people who have mobility issues, and people who need walking sticks or other assistance devices.
Before returning to Ghana to provide high-quality treatment, some of the volunteers will also have the chance to visit Denmark for hands-on training following their training, he added.
Bessa Simons added that in order to determine specific medical needs, the Danish medical partners would evaluate the selected hospital equipment needs.

They will assist in providing a dialysis machine, for instance, if Gyae Su Herbal Center needs one. The goal is to make sure that when artists come to the institution, they can receive all the medical care they require without having to worry about the expense," he said.
