Wow, 17 years? That’s wild. Gifty Anti’s been at this since 2008 seriously, some of y’all weren’t even doing long division by then. Her show, The Standpoint (or TSP now, because even TV legends need a rebrand), has basically bulldozed its way into the conversation, giving women a megaphone and refusing to play nice with “taboo” topics. She’s not just hosting she’s out here dragging light into all those shadowy, hush-hush corners people pretend don’t exist.
Honestly, the way she talks about it? It hits hard. “Seventeen years of scars and medals for the sake of womanhood and humanity.” That’s the sort of line that makes you pause mid-scroll and go, “Damn.” And it’s not all glitz and clapping, either. She’s straight-up owned the grit storms, setbacks, and still marching ahead with her head high and zero apologies.
They’re throwing a chat-and-dine bash in London for the anniversary. Wish I could crash it, honestly. Gifty’s over here raising a toast to the future, shouting out her supporters, and basically radiating that “I did this!” energy. Not a humblebrag just facts.
And her post? Pure, unfiltered Gifty:
“And the Day is here!!” (Caps and exclamation marks mandatory, obviously.)
From July 11, 2008, to July 11, 2025 (math check: that’s seventeen solid years), she’s been grinding empowering women, smashing taboos, and making room for stories nobody else bothered to tell. God’s grace gets a big shoutout. So does stubbornness, resilience, and a whole lot of impact. “Scars and medals,” she repeats because real change leaves a mark, for better or worse.
So yeah, cheers to seventeen years, and here’s hoping for a bunch more. Gifty Anti still standing, still slaying. If you’re not inspired yet, I dunno what will get you moving. #proudmoment
