Jacqueline Acheampong, better known as Gyakie, is a talented musician who has been sharing her thoughts on how she deals with comments on social media about her music and personality.
In a recent chat with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Gyakie explained that while she values feedback from her fans, she is careful about which advice she takes.
She mentioned that sometimes listening to critics can be really confusing. For example, one person might say they don’t like her short hair, while another prefers it long. Gyakie said, “What do you want me to do? I’m going to do what I think is best for me and what my fans will enjoy.” She believes that what she creates is what attracts her audience.
At first, Gyakie let negative comments bother her a lot. But now, she has learned to focus on her music and what she loves to do. “I just drop the music and do exactly what I have been brought on earth to do,” she said.
When asked about her activity on social media, Gyakie said she is “very active” but has decided to stop reading comments. “Right now I just drop it and go,” she explained.
Gyakie shared that she does this to keep her mind safe from negative vibes. She knows that the mind can be tricky. Even if you think you won’t let comments bother you, one bad comment can ruin your whole week because, after all, she is human and has feelings too.
Although she hasn’t completely stopped reading comments, she has learned to avoid checking every single one. This way, she can focus on her music and stay happy!
