Alright, so here’s the lowdown: Accra Hearts of Oak are rolling out the red carpet today—June 30—for their fresh head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani. Yeah, he’s the guy who’s already done stints with both the Black Stars and Black Queens, so, you know, he’s not exactly a rookie in this whole football business. The unveiling’s happening at the club’s secretariat over in Accra. Fancy stuff.
Dramani’s sliding into the hot seat after Aboubakar Ouattara peaced out at the end of the 2024/25 season. Two-year deal, if you’re keeping score. And he’s not coming solo—his crew’s rolling deep. Abdul Gazale’s got the first assistant gig, Fiifi Parker Hanson’s the second assistant, and Najahu Issah’s on goalkeeper duty. Basically, the band is back together, or, well, together for the first time.
Now, Hearts fans (the Phobians, if you’re into nicknames) are probably crossing fingers, toes, and maybe a few other things, hoping this new squad can drag the club out of last season’s trophy-less rut. I mean, nobody likes ending a season empty-handed, right?
First real challenge for this coaching squad? The President’s Cup showdown against their eternal frenemies, Asante Kotoko. That’s going down July 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Should be spicy.
And just when you think they’d chill for a bit, nope—they’re packing their bags for Nigeria right after, to take a swing at the Eko International Tournament. Busy summer for Hearts, huh?
