Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the big boss at the National Sports Authority, isn’t messing around. Dude’s on a mission digging up all sorts of paperwork about these half-finished, kinda-sus sports projects scattered around Ghana. Seriously, it’s wild how many stadiums just sit there, collecting dust, like the Ho Sports Stadium. That one’s basically become an urban legend at this point.
Chatting on Channel One TV, Ankrah basically called out the endless delays. He says the new NSA crew wants to stop the cycle no more sad, crumbling stadiums or random “ghost projects” popping up.
“We gotta figure out who actually got these contracts and what they were supposed to do,” he said. Sounds simple, but apparently, it’s chaos. A bunch of the NSA’s properties? No paperwork. Some are even locked in legal drama. So, his team’s hunting down records, trying to piece together a real timeline. Only then can they actually point fingers and say, “Okay, this person dropped the ball,” and actually do something about it.
And Ampofo Ankrah’s not just talking about slapping on a fresh coat of paint. Nah, he wants real change new policies, real accountability. No more handing off contracts to whoever, then shrugging when the money vanishes.
He’s basically saying: Let’s follow the cash, fix the mess, and make sure we’re not still talking about the same abandoned projects ten years from now. Honestly, it’s about time, right?
