Previous Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Saanie Daara, blieves that player lack of complacency is slowing down the progress of the Black Stars.
The Black Stars have struggled to measure up to expectations in late competitions, making early exits from the last two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competitions in Cameroon and Ivory Coast, where they were wiped out in the group stages.
Presently, the team is at risk for missing up qualification for the 2025 AFCON, set to happen in Morocco.
Right now, the Black Stars sit third in Group F with just two Point from four games, leaving them winless and in a difficult position.
Saanie Daara, presently a Senior Media Officer at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Believes the players' complacency is keeping the team down. He has called on the Football Association's leadership and coaching staff to request more greater responsibility from the squad.
"Subsequent to watching the Black Stars in the AFCON qualifiers, I think there is an issue of complacency in light of the fact that the players feel their position is secure, so they don't propel themselves," Saanie Daara said in a interview with Asempa FM.
"The leadership and specialized team should make it clear to the players that they need to do their absolute best with, as we actually need to qualify," he added.
The Black Stars will play their last round of qualifying matches not long from now, face Angola in Luanda on November 15 and facilitating the Niger Republic three days after the fact.
To get their position in the 2025 competition, Ghana needs triumphs in the two games as well as depend on Sudan losing to Niger and Angola.
