South Africa Football Federation President, Danny Jordaan has been captured for supposed fraud and embezzlement adding up to 1.3 million Rand ($71k).
The administrator, who is looking for a fourth term as South Africa's Football Federation head, was summoned under the steady gaze of court on Wednesday.
In March, officers from the Hawks- the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation under the Minister of Police, raided Safa's office apparently to get proof against the veteran administrator.
It is asserted that somewhere in the range of 2014 and 2018, Jordaan involved the federation's assets for individual gain.
This included employing a private security company to protect him, as well as an public relation company- all without the approval of the board.
"South African Football Federation (SAFA) president Danny Jordaan has been arrested and accused of misrepresentation after purportedly burning through R1.3 million of the affiliation's cash for his advantage," News24 revealed.
"Jordaan and his two co-blamed, SAFA CFO Gronie Hluyo and writer turned-businessman Trevor Neethling, are set to show up in the Particular Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge on Wednesday."
In a strike enduring five hours, Hawks officers seized a PC, USBs, outer hard drives, but to-be-distinguished reports.
