The announcement was made on Monday, April 28, 2025, at a press conference called the RNAQ Holdings Press Conference, which was hosted at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Although this was a big step, it wasn't totally unexpected because Richard had hinted at his plans to leave frontline company leadership before his much anticipated 40th birthday celebration.
According to the succession plan, Emmanuel N. L. Lamptey will take over as CEO of Quick Angels, and Lawyer Dei Kwarteng has been named Chairman of Bills Micro Credit.
Richard gave a speech at the ceremony outlining his reasons for making the choice and highlighting his enthusiasm for both national advancement and young empowerment.
Richard gave a speech at the ceremony outlining his reasons for making the choice and highlighting his enthusiasm for both national advancement and young empowerment.
"I want to devote my time and energy to leading this vision of bringing together young people with financial resources, incredible skills, and early-stage businesses to do this on a larger scale, to trigger the economic revolution that will make our nation great and strong," the statement reads as I begin my retirement from all of my businesses in Ghana and other countries as the CEO or Board Chairman. As may already be assumed, he stated, "I have no political ambition whatsoever; my only goal is to see our country prosper economically."
Emmanuel N. L. Lamptey and Lawyer Dei Kwarteng both conveyed their sincere appreciation to Richard Nii Armah Quaye for his inspirational guidance and leadership throughout the years. They pledged to work hard to promote the expansion and prosperity of Bills Micro Credit and Quick Angels, respectively, and reassured him that they would continue to carry on his legacy.
Mr. Quaye also took a moment to thank everyone he has collaborated with over the years, recognizing the teamwork that made his endeavors successful. He made a strong case for Ghanaian young to work hard, reach their full potential, and embrace business with tenacity and will.
Richard Nii Armah Quaye is aiming for a greater goal with the establishment of RNAQ Holdings: developing platforms that support aspiring businesspeople, link talent with resources, and propel Ghana's economic development from the ground up.
Even though he is leaving executive positions, his retirement marks the start of an exciting new adventure to empower a new generation of changemakers rather than its conclusion.
