According to a lawyer for the child's family, one of the kids, a four-year-old with Stage 4 cancer, was transported without medicine.
Tom Homan, the border czar for Donald Trump, stated that the moms had decided to take their American children with them. He added that the moms were in the country illegally and that "having a US citizen child does not make you immune from our laws."
Trump's policy of separating thousands of children from their parents caused him to face criticism throughout his first term.
According to a statement from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the two moms and three children, ages two, four, and seven, were deported to Honduras by New Orleans Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Friday.
After years of residency in the United States, the two families—one of whom was pregnant—were "deported from the U.S. under deeply troubling circumstances that raise serious due process concerns," according to the American Civil Liberties Union.
According to the advocacy group, one of the children who were removed as US citizens had metastatic cancer and was deported without having the opportunity to speak with medical professionals.

At a press conference on Monday morning, Homan told reporters that it was preferable to deport families together rather than apart.
He declared, "We're keeping families together." We removed the youngsters along with their mothers, who asked that the children leave with them. A parental decision has been made.
Homan rejected using the word "deported" to refer to the children's expulsion from the nation.
They were spared deportation. US citizens are not deported by us. It was their parents, not the US government, who made that choice," he stated.

A federal court stated last week that he had a "strong suspicion" that a two-year-old citizen kid who was deported to Honduras was sent away with "no meaningful process."
According to court records, the Louisiana-born infant and her relatives were detained on April 22 while making a regular visit to an immigration office in New Orleans.
The mother of the two-year-old "had due process at great taxpayer expense and was ordered by an immigration judge after those hearings, so she had due process," Homan stated in an interview with CBS Face the Nation on Sunday.
On May 19, the government will hold a hearing to discuss whether the family received due process in this matter.

Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary for the White House, praised the administration's first 100 days of immigration enforcement efforts on Monday.
As part of his crackdown on immigration, Leavitt said Trump would sign two new executive orders, one of which would require authorities to publish a list of locations the administration has designated as "sanctuary cities."
For almost ten years, the phrase "sanctuary city" has been widely used in the United States to refer to locations that only provide aid to federal immigration officials. Cities have adopted various strategies because it is not a legal term; some have created formal policies, while others have not.

Leavitt also bragged about an immigration raid that took place at a "underground" nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Sunday. According to her, authorities arrested over 100 undocumented immigrants and confiscated drugs and firearms.
114 immigrants were detained and put "on buses for processing and likely eventual deportation," according to a post from the Drug Enforcement Administration on X.
Since Donald Trump's return to the White House on January 20, thousands of unauthorized immigrants have been placed under arrest.
