Inaki Williams, a player from Ghana who plays for Athletic Bilbao, is super excited about his team’s chances in the UEFA Champions League this year. He shared his thoughts after winning the La Liga African Player of the Year Award for the second time! This award comes after an awesome season where he scored six goals and helped his teammates with eight assists in 35 games.
After celebrating his big win, Inaki talked about how he hopes Athletic Bilbao will do well in the Champions League. His team finished fourth in La Liga, which means they get to compete in this important tournament.
“We’re playing some amazing football! We’ve had two fantastic seasons, and we believe we can achieve even more. Next season, we want to have a great run in the Champions League. It’s every Athletic fan’s dream to see us play our best and make them proud,” said Williams.
However, Inaki won’t be joining the Black Stars, which is the national team of Ghana, for the Unity Cup happening in England from May 28 to May 31. Even though he won’t be there, he’s focused on helping his club shine in the Champions League!
