Inaki Williams, a forward for the Ghana Black Stars, has just been named the captain of the Spanish soccer team, Athletic Bilbao! This is super exciting news for him and his fans.
Inaki will be the leader of the team for the 2025-2026 season. This change comes after Oscar De Marcos, the previous captain, left the team. It’s a big responsibility, but Inaki is ready to take it on!
Last season, Inaki played in 35 games and scored six goals while also helping his teammates with eight assists. That means he not only scored but also set up a lot of goals for others! He has been with Athletic Bilbao for his entire professional career, which is pretty cool.
Athletic Bilbao shared the news on their official Twitter page, saying, “At your orders…Captain Kwaku. Congratulations Inaki Williams! We know you will lead our Lions with passion and pride.” It sounds like they really believe in him!
Since he started playing for the team in the 2014-2015 season, Inaki has scored a total of 111 goals and made 66 assists in 471 games across all competitions. That’s a lot of hard work and dedication!
Inaki Williams is ready to lead his team, and we can’t wait to see what he does next!
