OG Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia found himself smack in the middle of a social media storm after running his mouth on a podcast. Dude basically said men aren’t “built” for sexual monogamy like, loving one woman is cool and all, but sticking to just her in bed? Nah, apparently that’s “unnatural.” As you can imagine, that take went over like a lead balloon.
People lost it. Fans, activists, random folks with Twitter fingers everybody came for him. They called his comments misogynistic, tone-deaf, just plain irresponsible. I mean, you’d think a guy with his kind of platform would know better, right?
Anyway, 2Face saw the backlash and tried to patch things up. He hopped on social media and basically said, “Yeah, I messed up. I know I’m probably getting canceled for this. I get it, and honestly, I deserve it.” He apologized to his fans, family, and especially his wife, Natasha (who, let’s be real, probably had the roughest time with this mess).
He tried to explain himself, saying he was just sharing his perspective on how guys think, but admitted he totally botched the delivery. “Look, I wanted people to understand where I was coming from, but that’s not an excuse. I own what I said, and I’m sorry for letting down everyone who supports me.” So, yeah, at least he didn’t double down or pull some half-baked non-apology.
But, of course, this whole thing just dumped more fuel on the fire about gender, cheating, and whether celebs should just...stop talking sometimes. People are still arguing about it online, and honestly, it’s probably not dying down anytime soon.
