Ghanaian singer Cina Soul is seriously freaking out after some wild stuff Big Akwes said about her on TV honestly, I get why she’s scared. So here’s what happened: during one of those cringey “Kiss, Marry, or Kill” games on a live show, Big Akwes just straight-up said he’d kill Cina Soul. Not like, haha, just a game no, he went all in, describing how he’d stab her (with knives in both hands, like some horror movie), drink her blood, and eat her intestines. I mean, what even?
Cina didn’t take this lightly. She jumped on X (yeah, the artist formerly known as Twitter), tagging the Ghana Police and Sam George, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation. You could almost feel her panic in her words: “@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened.” That’s not just a bad joke gone wrong—she’s legit worried for her safety.
She also called out Sam George directly, basically begging him to step up and put a stop to this kind of madness on TV. “I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalize hate,” she added. Preach, honestly.
People have her back, though. Celebs, fans, random folks online everybody’s calling for Big Akwes to get arrested, and they want the TV station held responsible too. It’s kind of wild how something so gross could just air like that, isn’t it?
So far, the Ghana Police haven’t dropped an official statement. But the pressure’s on they gotta step in, not just for Cina Soul, but to send a message that this sort of unhinged, violent talk has no place in Ghanaian media.
