Kamaldeen Sulemana’s packed his bags and landed in Italy, signing for Atalanta. Yeah, the 23-year-old Ghanaian winger is kissing Southampton goodbye and diving into Serie A, penning a four-year deal with an extra year up for grabs if things go well.
Apparently, Atalanta shelled out €17.5 million for him, and if he plays his cards right, those add-ons could bump it up by another €4 million. Not exactly pocket change.
Oh, and check this he’s linking up again with Ivan Jurić, his old boss from Southampton who’s now calling the shots at Atalanta. Reunion tour, anyone?
Kamaldeen’s already racked up 44 caps for Ghana, which, let’s be real, is no joke. Last season? He played 26 times but only managed to find the net once. Bit rough, but hey, everyone has off years.
Since showing up at Southampton from Rennes back in January ‘23, he logged 34 games, scored five, and chipped in with a couple of assists. Not exactly Messi numbers, but he’s got something.
And get this he won’t be the only Ghanaian repping Atalanta. Ibrahim Sulemana, his national teammate, is there too. Maybe we’re in for some Ghanaian magic in Bergamo.
Let’s be honest, Southampton wasn’t a dream. So Kamaldeen’s probably itching to hit the ground running in Italy and prove he’s worth every euro as the 2025/26 season creeps up. Here’s hoping he tears it up.
