Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe is currently in the hospital because of some serious injuries he got while filming a movie. During a scene, he was accidentally kicked in the chest by another actor, Zubby Michael. This kick was not part of the script, which means it wasn’t supposed to happen at all!
After the incident, Godwin took to social media to share his thoughts. He wanted to remind everyone how important it is to keep each other safe while working on movie sets. He posted on Instagram, saying, “I just wanted to share an incident that happened on set a few days ago. This isn’t to call anyone out, but it’s a serious reminder that we need to prioritize each other’s safety on set.”
Godwin explained that the kick caused him a lot of pain in his chest, and he needed medicine to feel better. He mentioned, “During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director. It could be reflex, but it caused me serious pains. I had to get medication for my chest to feel better today.”
Godwin also pointed out that when actors and crew members don’t have safety measures in place, accidents like this can lead to real problems. He said, “What if something more serious had happened? Or this had gone south? Every action on set, particularly physical ones, needs to be intentional and within the director’s vision.”
He urged everyone in the film industry to stick to the script and follow safety rules. “Let us all look out for each other and ensure our sets are always safe spaces where everyone feels secure and protected. Because our health and safety are paramount,” he emphasized.
After Godwin’s post, his management team released a statement confirming that he was in the hospital. They said, “We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident involving a kick to the chest during filming with his colleague Zubby Michael.”
They also reassured everyone that they are doing their best to take care of him and will keep the public updated. “We appreciate your concern and well wishes for Godwin at this time. Keep Godwin in your thoughts.”
