Ghana’s comedy superstar, OB Amponsah, stole the show at the 2025 Ghana Comedy Awards! He proved he’s one of the funniest people in the country by winning some amazing awards.
OB Amponsah was named Stand-Up Comedian of the Year, which is like winning the biggest trophy of the night! Everyone was super excited for him.
His special show, called OB Amponsah Live at the Bukom Arena, also won the award for Comedy Special of the Year. This show was extra special because it celebrated 10 years of OB making people laugh. Fans and critics loved it for its fun, creativity, and even some touching moments.
OB Amponsah isn’t just a funny guy on stage; he’s also a star on the radio! He co-hosts a show called THE WMT SHOW on 3FM 92.7 with his friend Lekzy Decomic and other funny people. This show won the award for Radio Comedy Show of the Year, showing that OB is a big deal in all kinds of entertainment in Ghana.
After the awards, OB shared his thanks with everyone who has supported him. He said, “This is not just for me, it’s for every comedian who believes that Ghanaian comedy has a future. We’re just getting started!” 
He also gave a shout-out to important people who helped make his 10th-anniversary show a success. “Special thanks to Kofi Adinkra and Africa Arts Network for helping pull off the Bukom Arena event. It was a massive dream, and they helped make it a reality,” OB said.
