Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, is really excited about Felix Afena-Gyan coming back to the team. He thinks Felix has what it takes to make a big difference when he plays.
Felix, who plays for Juventus Next Gen, is joining the Black Stars for the first time since 2022! He’s been called up to play in the upcoming Unity Cup matches, and everyone is eager to see how he performs.
Before the matches, Coach Addo talked to the media and shared his thoughts on Felix. He knows that Felix has faced some challenges lately, but he believes the 21-year-old deserves another shot to show what he can do.
“There are a lot of young players, and he’s also young… he did well, and that’s why we want to give him another chance; he’s still young,” Addo said.
He also mentioned that it’s normal for players to have ups and downs in their careers. “Sometimes you have ups and sometimes you have downs, and for him, it’s another opportunity to show himself,” he added.
This season, Felix has scored six goals in 30 games for Juventus Next Gen in Serie C. He is expected to join the Black Stars training camp in London today, and everyone is looking forward to seeing him play.
The Black Stars are set to face their biggest rivals, Nigeria, on Wednesday, May 28, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford. The winner of this match will move on to the final on Saturday, May 31, where they will play against either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago. It’s going to be an exciting time for the team and their fans!
