Ghanaian singer Gyakie has shared that she feels a bit bad about how she answered some questions in interviews when she was just starting out in music.
Looking back at her early career, she realized that some of her answers were a bit immature, and she wishes she could have handled them differently.
“When I was around 19 or 20, I said some things in interviews that I wish I could change. Back then, I was just being myself, but I see things differently now,” she told Doreen Avio during a chat on Daybreak Hitz.
Gyakie also talked about how she faced some tough times because of negative comments from people.
“When my song ‘Forever’ came out, I let the mean comments really get to me. I would read every single one and even check out the person’s profile to see why they said those things. During that time, I was also trying hard to find my next hit song,” she explained.
The singer shared how she has learned to stay positive and motivate herself to get through these challenges.
“Now, I share my music without looking at comments or letting negativity affect me. I had to remind myself to just focus on making good music. If a song is meant to be a hit, it will be. As long as it’s good, just put it out there,” she said.
